Experience
I have been teaching group and private lessons since 2004, primarily focusing on guitar (electric/acoustic) and bass guitar. In 2009, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music from Bethany College, with an emphasis on guitar and bass guitar performance. Most recently, I have been teaching private lessons in the Nashville/Franklin/Brentwood/Cool Springs area since 2009. I am passionate about sharing my love of music, guitars, gear, and tone with serious students of all skill levels.
My long list of performance, studio, and teaching experiences in Nashville (and beyond) have given me the crucial know-how, ability, confidence, and tools that I need to ensure the growth and success of my students.

What to Expect / Rates
Why take private lessons? With the guidance of an experienced instructor/musician who can offer a clear practice plan for success, private lessons are the quickest, most efficient and thorough way to learn an instrument. Lessons also offer a great opportunity to brush up on technique, identify and break any bad habits, train your ear, learn how to read music (standard notation, chord and number charts, TAB, etc.) and explore your instrument at a deeper level.
Whether you are a beginner, pro, or blank slate, you can expect each lesson to be tailored to you and your goals.
All ages and skill levels are welcome.
LESSON RATES

Testimonials
“Amanda gave me bass lessons for about 2 years, and I can honestly say that short time was enough to fully change my approach to the instrument. From technique to theory to improvisation, Amanda offered instruction on numerous topics that have transformed me into a more confident and mature bassist. She worked really well with me and made sure that my individual needs were met. Knowing about her incredible musical journey and some of the legendary musicians she has encountered throughout her career, it is amazing to think that I was able to learn from such an experienced and talented musician. My playing improved drastically while studying under her, and I strongly encourage any musician, experienced or otherwise, to work with her. She is truly fantastic.”
Drew Brown (Former Student, Bassist and Vocalist for Arcane Atlas)
”To her teaching, Amanda brings all the qualities of competence, professionalism, diplomacy, knowledge, and thoroughness that characterizes her performing career. Having taught acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and electric bass for well over a decade, she has all the bases covered--from beginning to advanced levels--from Montessori, to the School of Rock, to professionals in her own home studio. And having written and recorded dozens of her own songs, she also coaches those students who are looking for direction in their own creative endeavors. She is the complete musician / teacher / performer / singer-songwriter.”
